Re: Schools Orienteering in Ireland

Dear
On behalf of the Irish Orienteering Association (IOA), the body recognised as the National Governing Body for Orienteering in Ireland by the Irish Sports Council, I wish to bring to your attention the correct contact details for schools orienteering in Ireland.

The accredited contact for schools orienteering is Andrew Cox who is the National Schools Development Officer on the IOA executive and was formally ratified in early 2009.

Contact Details: Andrew Cox (development@orienteering.ie)
Their website is: http://irishschoolso.blogspot.com/

Events such as Irish Schools, Munster Schools and Leinster Schools championships are organised on behalf of the IOA.

In order that there will be no further confusion in the future, no other group or association is
officially recognised by the Irish Orienteering Association.  The Irish Schools Orienteering Group is the only group sanctioned to run regional and national schools orienteering events at primary and secondary level, and select any national teams or individuals to represent Ireland at these levels in orienteering at international events.

I trust you will update your records and direct all future communications to this point of contact.

Yours in sport,

Brendan O’Brien
