Ursuline and Newtown retain their titles

Thank you club members: Norman, Ian, Hugh and Andrew for their help in running the SE Secondary schools event at Faithlegg woods. There were almost 250 entrants which was the highest ever for a local schools event.

Ursuline Waterford retained their overall girls title in convincing fashion with Rachel Moore and Maggie Doolan getting the better of Denise O'Connor (Presentation Waterford) in the Senior girls. They recorded a clean sweep of placings in 2nd and 3rd year girls with Sally Browne, Carrie Mullane and Jennifer Hayes ahead of Katie Aherne and Holly Moore (Newtown Waterford). There was a similar feat with Lorna Aylward, Sarah Whelan and Katie Maguire in the 1st year girls category.
In the boys section, Newtown were equally dominant. At Senior level, Charlie Kelly, Kaine de la Haye and Simon Quigley took the first three places. In the 2nd and 3rd year category Jonathan Pim had more than 8 minutes to spare over Sean Og Cafferky and Cian Hogan. There was no contest in the 1st year section as Robert Pim completed the course in a speedy 17 minutes whilst 2nd and 3rd went to George Maclean and Philip Dwan at over 52 minutes. Full results here.
